- Award
- Covers cost of attendance as determined by financial aid for up to eight semesters, plus a one-time $4,500 stipend for study abroad or academic enhancement. Reduced by the amount of any PROMISE Scholarship.
- Deadline
- Must be admitted to WVU as a first-time freshman by January 19, 2027.
- How to apply
- Eligible students receive application materials by mail, usually starting in late October or early November. Five recipients are chosen by a selection committee from the pool of 20 Bucklew Scholars.
- What you'll need
- An invitation to compete after admission review
- Who can apply
- West Virginia residents who graduate from a West Virginia high school (or were home-schooled in West Virginia at least for senior year), with a minimum 3.80 high school GPA and a minimum 30 ACT or 1360 SAT.
