Financial need is part of how this award is decided, alongside merit.
- Award
- New Regents Scholars receive an honorarium award of $7,500, disbursed over three quarters. Scholars with demonstrated financial need may receive an additional stipend. The scholarship spans twelve quarters of undergraduate study for freshman recipients.
- Deadline
- No separate application or deadline. Consideration is based on the UC application; the UC filing deadline is not listed on the scholarship page.
- How to apply
- All UC Davis applicants are considered solely on the information in the UC application. Selected admitted students are notified with their admission offer.
- What you'll need
- No separate application: you are considered when you apply for admission
- Who can apply
- Students entering UC Davis as freshmen (junior transfers and continuing students entering junior year are also eligible). Selection is based on academic achievements and personal accomplishments rather than financial need.
- Good to know
- The honorarium is merit-based; any stipend beyond it depends on financial need. Scholars must keep a 3.25 cumulative GPA, complete at least 39 units each year and stay full time.
