Regents Scholarship

- $5,000 per year for four years for entering freshmen, plus priority registration, four years of guaranteed housing, extended library borrowing, membership in the Regents Scholars Association and dedicated academic advising.

- No separate application. Selection is based on the UC Application for Admission; students are notified in March if selected (displayed without a year).
- How to apply
- All freshmen admitted for fall are considered based on their UC application. No additional information is required.

- No separate application: you are considered when you apply for admission
- Who can apply
- Admitted fall freshmen who are US citizens, permanent residents, or non-citizens qualifying under California Assembly Bills 130 or 131. UCSB typically offers the scholarship to students within the top two percent of admitted freshmen.
- Good to know
- Scholars must keep quarterly and cumulative GPAs of 3.20 and complete 12 units per quarter. The page currently notes that all 2026-27 awards have been made.
