- Value of tuition for up to five years or 10 semesters (undergraduate and graduate or law studies); four years of on-campus housing at the regular room rate; $4,000 per year undergraduate supplemental scholarship for four years (a portion paid by NMSC); $2,000 one-time allowance for research or international study after one year at UA.
- Deadline
- Admission application and supporting documents by the December 4 priority deadline (later applicants through May 1 considered on a space-available basis). List UA as college of choice with NMSC before May 1, 2027.
- How to apply
- Be named a National Merit Finalist, apply to UA by the December 4 priority deadline, and list The University of Alabama as your college of choice with NMSC before May 1, 2027.

- Who can apply
- National Merit Finalists with a 3.5 or higher GPA after junior year. NMSC requires entrants to be US citizens or US lawful permanent residents intending to become citizens.
- Good to know
- Terms are for students naming UA before May 1, 2027 (fall 2027 entry). Admitted National Merit Semifinalists with a 3.5+ GPA are automatically eligible for the Presidential Scholarship instead of this package. Separate from UA's automatic out-of-state merit table.
