Award

Covers 100% of the approved cost of attendance for four years; the admissions page shows an annual total of $29,086 (tuition and fees $11,852 for 30 hours, housing $7,032, meals $4,280, books $1,200, transportation $2,731, miscellaneous $2,000), labeled 2024-2025. Includes automatic admission to the Honors College.

Deadline

Admissions page: declare Texas Tech as college of choice by April 1. The scholarships office page still shows a May 31, 2022 date.

Be a National Merit Finalist and designate Texas Tech as first choice with NMSC.

Who can apply

National Merit Finalists, including non-residents. NMSC requires entrants to be US citizens or US lawful permanent residents intending to become citizens.

Good to know

Official pages show 2024-2025 figures and older deadlines; confirm fall 2027 terms. Aid is made up of federal, state and institutional gift aid (no loans). Renewal: 3.5 GPA and 30 hours per year.
