U.S. national winner: $10,000 scholarship and a trip to Stockholm; international winner: $15,000

How to apply

Submit a water-related research paper online to your state competition (regional science fair winners or self-nominated students).

What you'll need

• Original research
• A finalist round or selection weekend

Who can apply

High school students in grades 9 to 12 who have done a water-related science project and are at least 15 by August 1 of the competition year; residents of the 50 states, DC and Puerto Rico.

Good to know

The 2027 cycle has not been posted yet. Individual or two-person team projects.
