New Arkansan Non-Resident Tuition Award (NRTA)

Award

2026-2027 terms. Students from GA, IL, KS, LA, MS, MO, OK, TN, TX: 3.80+ GPA pays 90% of the difference between in-state and out-of-state tuition; 3.60+ pays 80%; 3.20+ pays 70%. Students from all other states (Extended States NRTA): 3.60+ pays 80%; 3.20+ pays 50%. Guide lists annual values of $15,600-$20,000 (listed states) and $11,100-$17,800 (other states) based on 30 hours.

Deadline

No separate application; ACT/SAT and the scholarship application for additional merit awards are due by the February 1 final scholarship deadline.

Automatic with admission. No scholarship application required for the NRTA.

Who can apply

Admitted non-resident freshmen with a 3.20+ cumulative high school GPA on a 4.0 scale (weighted credit given for AP, IB and concurrent courses).

Good to know

Page is marked effective for 2026-2027; confirm fall 2027 terms. Renewal: 24 hours per year and 2.75 GPA. Other university scholarships are awarded holistically and may consider need.
