Award

2026 prizes: 1st $1,500, 2nd $1,000, 3rd $500; the national winner represents the USA at the International Brain Bee World Championship

Deadline

2027 dates not yet posted; the 2026 championship was held April 25, 2026 at UC Irvine. Students must first win a local chapter Brain Bee.

How to apply

Win a local (chapter) Brain Bee neuroscience competition, then register for the national championship.

What you'll need

• A finalist round or selection weekend
• An application fee

Who can apply

Ages 13 to 19 at the time of the competition, currently or formerly enrolled in an accredited US high school, and a winner of a local Brain Bee. Students may compete at nationals only once.

Good to know

The 2026 national championship had a $400 registration fee.
