Rodeo scholarships for high school seniors (Metropolitan, Area Go Texan, Achievement and others)

Financial need is part of how this award is decided, alongside merit.

Award

$5,000 per year, renewable, up to $20,000 over four years. More than 800 scholarships awarded in 2026, including 350 Metropolitan awards.

Deadline

Class of 2027 dates not yet posted. The most recent posted cycle opened December 1, 2025 and the online application closed February 2, 2026.

How to apply

One online application considers you for every Rodeo scholarship you qualify for. A school official or counselor completes a second portion.

Who can apply

US citizens and Texas residents graduating from an eligible high school who complete the FAFSA and plan to attend an accredited, not-for-profit Texas university. Minimum SAT 950 or ACT 19 (Metropolitan also requires top half of class). Some categories are limited to certain counties or to 4-H, FFA, exhibitor or other groups.
