CFGA scholarships (universal application)

This is a group of awards reached through one application. Each award inside it has its own rules.

Award

Hundreds of scholarships each year through many donor funds; amounts vary by fund (for example, the Jim Kennedy Scholarship for children of Cox employees is up to $40,000 split over 8 semesters).

Deadline

2027-28 dates not yet posted. For the 2026-27 cycle, most scholarships opened December 8, 2025 and closed March 2, 2026.

How to apply

Complete the universal application on the Foundation's GrantInterface portal to see which scholarship programs you can be considered for.

Who can apply

Students planning full-time post-secondary enrollment. Each fund sets its own rules; examples include the Nancy Penn Lyons Scholarship (Georgia residents, 3.0+ GPA, SAT 1000+ or ACT 22+) and the Mayor's Youth Scholarship (Atlanta Public Schools graduates or City of Atlanta residents).

Good to know

Several funds are employer-, college- or HBCU-specific. Renewal applications are sent separately to current recipients.
